Although singer Susan Raye
had some solo success on her own in the late 1960s and early '70s, her biggest successes were duets she recorded with country icon Buck Owens
during that time span, and the two had a natural affinity together. This 14-track set collects key cuts from the pair’s three duet LPs on Capitol Records, including five tracks from We’re Gonna Get Together
(1970), five from The Great White Horse
(also originally released in 1970), and three from 1973’s The Good Old Days (Are Here Again)
, and it adds up to a nice period portrait of a great singing partnership. It’s also, amazingly enough, the first time most of these tracks have appeared on CD.
